This allows you to deposit money into your savings at any Post Office or outlet displaying the Paypoint logo (e.g. Garages, One Stop, Co-operatives, Spar stores etc.).

Although West Cheshire Credit Union cannot guarantee a rate of return on savings, we do aim to pay a dividend to shareholders and this is approved by members at the Annual General Meeting. However, the rate of the dividend is dependent on the financial performance of the credit union.

West Cheshire Credit Union, however, will pay interest on our Safekeepers' accounts (Young savers). This is paid annually at 1.5% below the Bank of England base rate.

Young Savers - Safekeepers

Safekeepers Piggy BankThe young savers account (Safekeepers) is designed for our junior members. By encouraging juniors to save regularly we are promoting a positive approach to putting money aside for the future, and encouraging them to understand the value of money.

Safekeepers is intended not only as a safe means of saving, but more importantly as a mechanism to educate and develop greater financial literacy skills for juniors. Throughout this year we will be holding competitions and activities for junior savers to get involved in – please contact us for more information.

Credit Unions are about community involvement so West Cheshire Credit Union is keen to work in collaboration with local schools to promote the benefits of saving regularly. If you know of a school that may be interested in getting involved in the young savers scheme please do not hesitate to contact us. Future plans include developing mini credit unions in schools so as pupils can get involved with setting up and running such a project to teach them vital business and transferable skills.

We have included some frequently asked questions but if you have any which are not answered here please feel free to contact us.

Payroll Deductions

Payroll Deductions LogoWest Cheshire Credit Union has links with a number of companies in the Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston areas that offer Payroll Deduction.

Companies in West Cheshire are being encouraged to offer payroll deductions schemes so as to allow their employees access to the facilities of the West Cheshire Credit Union through their salaries. Those already offering and supporting payroll deduction have found a significant motivating factor in encouraging staff to save directly from their salaries.

Payroll deduction is easy for employer and employee to set up. Members through payroll deduction still have access to all West Cheshire Credit Union facilities.

If your organisation would like to know more, we would be pleased to arrange to come along and have a chat. Please contact us for more information.

Currently we provide payroll deduction to employees of:
